Smoke May Cause Road Closures

Heavy smoke from a forest fire on Friday is causing some possible road closures in Gulf County.

Officials from the Gulf County Sheriff's Office say they anticipate the possible road closures on State Road 71 from County Road 381 to County Road 387 because of heavy smoke.

If SR 71 does close down, anyone going between Wewahitchka and Port St. Joe will need to take a different route such as County Road 386 to and from Highway 98.

The sheriff's office plus the Florida Highway Patrol will be monitoring the conditions throughout the night.
