South Walton Woman Arrested for Embezzlment Allegations

A Santa Rosa Beach woman is facing some serious charges for allegedly stealing from her employer.

Walton County sheriff's investigators arrested 44-year-old Sharon Lynn Sassity, charging her with larceny and embezzlement.

They say Cassity used her position as a property manager to steal between 20-and-100 thousand dollars from Mathews Properties. Cassity apparently worked for Mathews for 13-years.

Company officials apparently became suspicious and several months ago and contacted the sheriff's office. Authorities immediately began investigating those suspicions, which culminated in Cassity's arrest.

Cassity was booked into the Walton County jail in DeFuniak Springs on the 2-felony charges.
