It appears Walton County tourism officials are backing out of a project that would have brought an arts center and sports arena to the South Walton area.
Over the last year and a half, $98,000 was spent to conduct a feasibility study to determine if it was financially viable to build an outside amphitheater.
The venue was designed to hold 5,000 people for concerts, and included a sports arena to attract traveling sports teams.
At Tuesday night's county commission meeting, TDC officials advised against continuing the project for financial reasons. They stated the estimated cost of building the complex would be around $33 million dollars.
