A close race for District Two's Congressional seat came to an end on Election Day.

Republican incumbent Steve Southerland won with just more than 53 percent of the district's vote.
Southerland now says he's ready for a few days rest.

"It's relief. It's a lot of work, the campaign is. I'm ready for a few days off. My daughter's home from college, we'll spend a few days together before going back to Washington," said Southerland.

The congressman says he'll return to Washington D.C. on Tuesday.
He plans to focus on the government's budget.
