Southern Airways Express planes and pilots are ready to fly out of Northwest Florida Beaches International.
And the FAA has given the company the thumbs up, but they have to wait just a little longer before they can officially take off.
"We're waiting on the final piece of regulatory approval from the Department of Transportation that will allow us to sell tickets,” said Keith Sisson, the chief operating officer at Southern Airways Express.
Sisson said the company has been working closely with DOT to get the situation resolved and believes the official website will be up and running by this weekend.
"These hurdles are a good thing,” he said. “They're there to protect the customers and consumers. It's part of consumer protection to make sure customers get a safe experience and what they pay for."
As soon as the website goes live people will be able to purchase tickets to Birmingham, New Orleans, Tampa, Memphis and Oxford, Mississippi.
The company also hopes to expand their services by the fall and they welcome input from the community.
"We encourage the public to get on our Facebook page and tell us where they would like us to fly to and from."
So be thinking football season destinations this fall!
