The Chairman and CEO of Southern Airways Express, Stan Little, has announced the Memphis based carrier's plans to fly non-stop from Memphis to four destinations including Panama City Beach.
Instead of utilizing the new terminal at ECP, Southern passengers will arrive and depart from Sheltair AviaCon, the executive terminal that is similar to other terminals that Southern uses throughout the region.
In addition to flights to/from Memphis, Southern will also offer Panama City non-stop service to/from New Orleans (Lakefront Airport), Birmingham, and Oxford, Mississippi.
In addition to the use of complimentary iPads on all flights, the Southern’s other perks include no baggage fees, no parking fees, and no TSA security hassles.
Passengers will also benefit from the convenience of arriving at the airport just 15 minutes prior to departure. Fares on all flights system-wide will range from $129 to $249, which will make air service to from Panama City some of the most affordable in the region.
Southern is not yet offering tickets for sale, but the company expects its website, www.iFlySouthern.com, to be live and online in about a week, with the first flights set to take-off in late May.
Southern will announce in the coming days an open house at Sheltair AviaCon to coincide with the inaugural flights into Panama City.
