Speeding Driver Blamed For Rollover Accident


Charges are pending against a driver who State Troopers say was speeding when he caused a rollover crash in Calhoun County that critically injured a man.

CALHOUN COUNTY - Charges are pending against a driver who State Troopers say was speeding when he caused a rollover crash in Calhoun County that critically injured a man.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Danny Odell Carnley Jr., 27, of Fountain and Pedro Simon Chavez, 39, of Altha, were both traveling south on State Road 71. About 5:45 a.m., Carnley rear ended Chavez’s van, forcing it off the road. The van overturned several times into a tree line.

Chavez was transported by helicopter to Bay Medical Center/Sacred Heart in Panama City. He’s listed in critical condition. Carnley
was transported to Calhoun Medical Center in Blountstown with serious injuries.
