Panama City officials and community leaders opened the brand new Splash Pad at the M-L-K Rec Center Friday afternoon.
This is the first water attraction of its kind in Panama City. It took 16-months to plan and build.
It features ground level and above ground elements that keep the water flowing for the children.
City officials are expecting so many kids they're planning to rotate groups of them every 15-minutes.
Jjuliaette Smith told us it’s a great addition for Glenwood. "I'm glad to see that we have some water for the kids for the summer to add onto the programs that are already here. Big improvement for the community.”
The water system is on a timer, so the city won't be wasting water when the kids aren't using the Splash Pad.
