A group called the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association held a fundraising rally in Panama City Beach Saturday morning for former Liberty County sheriff Nick Finch.
The money will be used for his court fees as he faces accusations of misconduct.
FDLE agents say he removed official documents and ordered corrections officers at the Liberty County jail to free a man who had been arrested on gun charges.
However, supporters see things from a different perspective, saying that Finch is a shining example of a constitutional officer doing his duty and keeping his oath of office.
Also in attendance were Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen, Panama City Beach Police Chief Drew Whitman, and Libertarian candidate for governor Adrian Wyllie.
