PANAMA CITY BEACH-- Tax free weekend kicked off Friday and shoppers are getting deals all the way till midnight Sunday.
The deals range from clothing to accessories, to back to school supplies, even computers.
Busy shoppers packed Pier Park in Panama City Beach Friday racking in the deals. The tax free weekend means big savings for shoppers and big business for Panama City Beach.
Some bargain hunters have already started their shopping.
"Back to school clothes, purses and all the necessities," said shopper Bridget Bradford. And the best part is, "Getting tax free stuff," said Bradford.
Not only will students be taking advantage of the savings, parents are jumping in.
"Back to school shopping, I mean with two girls it helps, a lot," said parent Lashea Brown.
Some even say shopping with parents is the best on super shopping weekends like this.
"I'm gonna start tomorrow with my mom, so she can buy me everything," said shopper Yvetter Matthews.
Yvette says tax is expensive so she's going to make the most of this weekend. "Backpacks, school supplies, shoes, the works," said Matthews.
Not only are shoppers raving about deals, but businesses are excited too, saying they've already seen big numbers.
"Oh a ton, it's coming in spurts, but i think it's about to hit us again tonight for people that are coming from work that don't get off till like 5 or 6ish," said Francesca's Manager Candace Simpson.
Tax free items include clothing, accessories, shoes, and bags all under 100 dollars per item.
Shoppers also don't have to pay the state's 6% sales tax on the first $750 of any computer purchase. The exemption also applies to computer accessories.
