Texting While Driving Ban Passes

Texting while driving will soon be illegal in Florida.

The Florida Senate passed the ban by a vote of 39 to 1 after the House added a clause which prevents officers from searching a person’s phone unless an accident results in injury or death.

The bill's sponsor in the Senate, Nancy Detert, is happy the bill was passed before the session ends tomorrow.

This was the fifth year in a row lawmakers attempted to pass a texting while driving ban.
