SANDESTIN - Thousands of wine-lovers are enjoying a weekend at Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin this weekend, where they can sample hundreds of wines from across the world all for a good cause.
About 7,000 people attended the 28th annual Sandestin Wine Festival. 78 different vendors brought their best vintage grapes to sample and taste.
Part of this weekend's proceeds will be going to the Fisher House of the Emerald Coast. The Fisher House provides military families a home when a family member is in the hospital.
"Maybe not for them or anybody they know, but they realize helping the military and their families is such an important job and they're very grateful that we are able to do that again, we could only do it without Sandestin," said Kim Henderson of the Fisher House of the Emerald Coast.
Organizers expect to raise about $10,000 for the Fisher House. The festival will continue Sunday as well.
