It was a bad Saturday morning on Northwest Florida roadways with three people killed in two separate accidents.
The first crash happened around 6:30 AM on State Road 4 at Baker in Okaloosa County.
Troopers say a car driven by 62 year old Charlotte Black of Oilive Hill, KY., drifted into the opposite lane of traffic and crashed head on into a car driven by 81 year old John Joseph St. John of Niceville. St. John was killed.
Black was critically injured and was life-flighted to Sacred Heart in Pensacola. A passenger in her car, 87 year old Racine D. Ison of Grayson, KY., was killed.
The Florida Highway Patrol says both fatalities were pronounced dead at the scene by Okaloosa County Paramedics.
An hour and a half later in north Walton County a 39 year old Laurel Hill man died of a heart attack while backing his pick up truck in the Tom Thumb parking lot in the 22,000 block of US 331.
Troopers say Christopher S. Laird was backing from a parking space when he hit a near by vehicle. Both sustained minor damage. Laird was taken to Florala Memorial Hospital across the state line in Florala, Alabama where he died about two and a half hours later.
