Panama City - Wednesday afternoon's brief, but heavy thunderstorm is being blamed for a power outage near downtown Panama City. Panama City Police directed traffic at three intersections during afternoon rush hour because traffic lights were out at at 11th and Jenks, 11th and Harrison, and Jenks and 15th Street.

A gas station at 11th and Jenks had to turn people away until power was restored. Nearby neighborhood say these outages have become pretty regular the past few weeks. "This has been like the 3rd time this has happened in a month. We have a transformer on Grace that's just blown out. Every time it rains, not even lightning, every time it rains it goes out," said Timm Hess.

Crews had the power restored around 6:30 Wednesday night.
