One local business and an AMVET post is teaming up to try and break a world record for a good cause.
Hundreds of bikers made their way to Ms. Newby's to kick off the Tour-de-Beach bike ride through several destinations around town. Proceeds from the event will go towards various Wounded Warrior projects and help raise money for men and women injured while in combat.
Officials say whether they win the title or not, the main purpose is to bring awareness and support for all wounded warriors and thier families.
