OKALOOSA COUNTY-- An out-of-town visitor helped saved a young boy's life after a near-drowning incident Friday night.
Maisie Patin, 25, from Louisiana said she saw a group of children running in the pool area of the Sandpiper Cove in Destin around 6:30 p.m.
She says one of them was carrying an unresponsive child.
She performed CPR on five-year-old Sebastian Jamal Stevens, also from Louisiana, until he began to cough and she could see a pulse.
EMS arrived and took Sebastian to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
Okaloosa County Sheriff's deputies say he is alert and responsive and should make a full recovery.
Deputies say Sebastian's parents left him in with an adult family member and was not allowed in the pool.
But they say he jumped in because he wanted to swim with the other kids.
No charges have been filed.
