A traffic crash involving a patrol car happened a few minutes after 2:00 Thursday afternoon in the 1000 block of east Highway 98.
Investigators say a 32-year old officer, in a marked patrol car, was heading west on 98, approaching the intersection of Martin Luther King, Junior Boulevard.
They say he failed to slow down for the traffic stopped at the light, and hit the back of a pick-up truck. Paramedics took both drivers to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Both vehicles were badly damaged. Investigators have yet to release the names of those involved or if say the officer was responding to a call.
The crash is still under investigation.
