Trio Arrested in P.C. Firebomb Case

Panama City police say they've arrested 3-people in-connection with a fire at the home of a local Muslim family.

21 year old Patrick Lance Pippin is charged with arson. 21 year old Daniel Lee Blankenship and 23 year old Anthony Michael Wait are charged with principal to arson.

The fire happened at 3:45 in the morning on August 15th, at a home on Timber Lane in phase-1 of the subdivision called the Woods which is off north Harrison Ave.

The home is owned by a local doctor Aziz Ahmad. 5-adults were inside at the time. Ahmad's son was one of them. He heard a loud noise outside of his bedroom window, looked out and saw the ground below on-fire. He called 9-1-1, then put out the fire.

Police say they smelled gasoline and found what appeared to be a broken and burned mason jar, lying on the ground below the window.

Panama City police, State Fire Marshall's investigators, the FBI, and the Gulf County sheriff's office all worked on the case and developed Pippin, Blankenship and Wait as their suspects.

But they're not giving out any other details about the case. Blankenship and Wait are in the Bay county jail tonight. Wait is being held in Gulf County.
