"They live so close together in spirit and in body,” said Abraham Gordon, Jr.
Abraham Gordon Junior remembers his two sisters always being together.
Rosa Gordon and Clara Wood grew up in Panama City and have lived here all their lives.
"The two woman that happens to love each other with that sister bond and that's never separated on earth. Only separated by death,” said Russell Wright, Mortuary Owner.
On December 1st, 74-year old Rosa Gordon died.
Gordon worked many years for the Bay County school system.
“Her favorite thing was to meet people," said Gordon Jr.
Her sister Wood worked as a housekeeper.
Wood did not know her sister died and a couple hours later, she died.
“Clara was the quiet one," said Gordon, Jr.
Mortuary owner Russell Wright knew both women through family friends.
During his 20 years in the funeral business, Russell has witnessed hundreds of people pass through his doors, but has never seen anything like this.
"And there were things that family members shared with me that Rosa said about Clara," said Russell. "Expecting Clara to pass first and even said that I’m going to follow her."
Both sisters died under different conditions.
Gordon passed away at the Select Specialty Hospital in Panama City due to complications after a knee surgery.
Wood died at the Panama City Nursing Center from several ailments.
"That's quite a time here on this earth," said Gordon, Jr. "And the last years they were here, they spent some time near each other."
The two sisters made a lasting impression on their family members.
"God never makes a mistake. He does everything in his own way and in his own time," said Gordon Jr.
