Panama City Police are looking for a murder suspect after a late night shooting that killed one man and injured another.

The shooting happened around 11:15 Monday night near the intersection of East 11th Street and Spring Avenue.

Officers say a confrontation started at a home on Spring Avenue, then spilled out into the roadway.

Two men were shot.

Police found one victim in the road, the other in a nearby yard. Both were taken to a local hospital, where one died from his injuries. The other victim is expected to recover.

Lt. Robert Luther of the PCPD says Detectives believe the victims were targeted. “We don't believe this was a random act of violence, a drive by shooting or anything else. The victims were approached at a residence and that is why we feel they were targeted.

Police are not releasing any information about a possible motive or the victim's identities at this time.
