Two Area Residents Died in Separate Traffic Crashes Tuesday Night

Springfield Police are investigating a deadly motorcycle versus pick-up truck crash. It happened at the intersection of Tyndall Parkway and Fourteenth Street around 10:45 Tuesday night.

Springfield Police say 27 year old Christopher Donald Manley was riding his motorcycle north on Tyndall Parkway when a pickup truck made a left onto Tyndall from 14th Street.

The driver of the truck says he didn't see Manley, who laid down his motorcycle in an attempt to avoid a collision, but it was too late. Both he and his bike slid and became lodged under the truck.

Manley was declared dead on the scene. The driver and passenger of the truck were not injured.

Meanwhile, is another crash, a Jackson County woman has died in a single-vehicle wreck. It happened Tuesday night around nine on Merritt Mill Road and Dean Road in Marianna.

The Florida Highway Patrol says 40-year-old Brandye Rebecca Hinton of Marianna was driving fast northbound on Merritt Mill when for unknown reasons she drove off the road and collided with a pine tree.

Troopers say she was not wearing her seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.
The accident is still being investigated.
