An appeals court ruled college students are allowed to take guns on campus and store them in their cars.
The court handed out a lengthy ruling against the University of North Florida after a student challenged a university rule preventing students from bringing guns to campus and keeping them in their vehicles.
Gun rights advocate Marion Hammer says she supports the court ruling.
“They’re old enough to go overseas and die for their country, and some university is going to tell them that they can’t have a firearm in their vehicle for protection, that’s just wrong,” said Hammer.
It’s unknown whether the university will appeal the ruling.
