Untreated Sewage Discharge in St. Andrew Bay

Due to a collapsed gravity main sewer line approximately 2000 gallons of untreated sewage overflowed from a manhole at West 8th Street and Buena Vista Blvd in Panama City.

The untreated sewage flowed into a storm drain that empties into St. Andrew Bay.

Sewage contamination of water can expose bathers to intestinal viruses, bacteria, and parasites.

The Florida Department of Health in Bay County advises against swimming in St. Andrew Bay between Frankford Ave and Moore Circle until further notice.
