Vandalized Mural Replaced

FORT WALTON BEACH - A rededication ceremony will be held to unveil a new patriotic mural in Ft. Walton Beach, replacing one targeted by vandals over a month ago.

Employees at Michaels and Booth Law Firm were shocked and more than a little upset when the mural was defaced back in January.

However, the firm was able to contact the original artist and two weeks ago he was able to repaint it and getting rid of the offensive symbols the vandals left behind.

Employees say they have seen an abundance of support from business owners, veterans and residents.

For employees at Michles and Booth, this mural signifies something so much more for them.

"About a decade ago, the Michles family set up what is referred too as the family freedom foundation. It is a 501-C3 organization that provides any financial services to 1st responders or soldiers who are wounded or injured in the line of duty," said Chris Janes, Michles and Booth, P.A.

A rededication ceremony will be held April 11th.
