Panama City Beach -- A cell phone camera captured the action in the Panama City Beach Burger King on Front Beach Road Saturday, as a crowd of tourists nearly rioted at the restaurant.
(*Update -- Woman now facing serious charges -- Real name "Nekiva Vonte Hardy." See story on wjhg.com for details*)
Employees dialed 9-1-1 for help, as one bikini-clad woman, who identified herself as 23-year-old Kimesia Smith of Montgomery, Ala., (but who police later learned was 30-year-old Nekiva Vonte Hardy) jumped up on the counter and threw a charity coin jug at employees, and 3 of Smith's friends also began throwing napkins, utensils, and trays throughout the restaurant.
The woman in the bikini, who became concerned about the whereabouts of her two children after Panama City Beach Police placed her in handcuffs, was taken to the Bay County Jail on charges of simple battery, in part because of allegations she pulled a Burger King employee's hair. Beach police contacted a friend of the woman, who told police she would take care of (Hardy's) children.
So is this another spring breaker gone wild? Panama City Beach Police Chief Robert Harding doesn't think so, saying, "She's a 30-year-old unemployed mother of three from Montgomery, so I would surmise that she's not a spring breaker."
