Franklin County has issued a voluntary evacuation notice for residents living along the Apalachicola River and camp sites starting at the Hickory Landing on Owl Creek and continuing south along Highway 65.
This could charge quickly to mandatory as the water starts coming down from the north.
Right now, the river level at Blountstown could reach 25 feet by Thursday. This doesn’t include the water that will be coming from the Chipola River.
The City of Apalachicola is not under this notice at this time.
Sand bags are available at the County State Yard off Bluff Road. Please only take what you need.
This is a precautionary notice but the evacuation is strongly advised.
