WCSO Deputies Arrest Repeat Offender

On Sunday morning, deputies with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28 year old William Dunsmore of Ponce de Leon, for violating a domestic violence injunction and aggravated stalking.

Deputies responded to a home on Squirrel Haven Road in Defuniak Springs, shortly after 10:00 am when Dunsmore’s step-father, Mr. Arthur Tellander, called stating that Dunsmore was in violation of an existing restraining order that prevents him from being within 500 feet of the residence.

Deputies made contact with Dunsmore who was sitting in a van in the front yard of the residence.

Dunsmore who has extensive history with the Sheriff’s Office and is known to carry a weapon was asked several times to show his hands.

In response to his failure to follow instructions, the deputy withdrew his weapon as a precaution.

Dunsmore was immediately detained by deputies and two knives used for hunting were confiscated from his person.

Dunsmore was transported and booked into the Walton County Jail.
