WALTON COUNTY-- Talks about the Walton County Landfill came up during Tuesday’s Commissioner meeting.
District 4 Commissioner Sara Comander stated that there needs to be a discussion about the future of the county's landfill.
Commander says for four years she has been trying to hold public meetings to discuss possible changes to the area.
Some things she had in mind was recycling and how the county could generate some money from the landfill.
"I just want us to have a discussion, on what is there is anything that we want to do with that. Are we going to keep it status quo forever that is a $150 million dollar piece of property sitting there. Are we going to use it? It is past time,” said Commissioner Comander.
Commissioners approved to move the matter further, and will hold public meetings.
