Walton County Man Faces Possible Life Sentence

WALTON COUNTY-- A Walton County man is facing a possible life sentence after a jury convicted him of armed burglary and dealing in stolen property.

25 year old Gerald Wayne Simmons burglarized a Walton County home around May 23rd of last year.

He stole several firearms, a large amount of cash, a class ring and several Michael Kors watches.

Walton County Sheriff's investigators identified Simmons as their suspect after he pawned several pieces of the jewelry, including a class ring. the next day.

The armed burglary charge carries a minimum 10 year sentence.

Judge Kelvin Wells has ordered a pre-sentence investigation before imposing Simmons' sentence.
