Stephanie jones is definitely a woman who's making a name for herself in what has been traditionally a man's world.
After more than 17-years in the road construction business, she's been named the District 5 road foreman, the first in Walton County's history.
"I feel proud that they gave me the honor to do this. I have been around it enough I think I know what I am doing. I am glad to help the community and county commissioners," said Jones.
But no one gave jones anything; she earned it through a lot of hard work, and a lot of support.
"Some people don't like working with women, I think she is great. She has always had great things to say about us, and very knowledgeable about the county," said Michael Ammons, one of Jones' crewmembers.
An accomplishment for Jones and an inspiration to women everywhere.
"Just have an open mind you can do anything you put your mind too and have your crew behind you. All my crew behind me has helped me in every way possible to get to where I am today you got that you can do anything," stated Jones.
Jones first went to work for the county as a general laborer in April 1996.
