Meteorologists are calling for the possibility of more thunderstorms and rain over the next 24 hours.
For that reason, Washington County officials have declared a local state of emergency.
The county has already been saturated with rain and with this latest round the Choctawhatchee River, creeks and streams will rise even more.
Most water on roadways will recede fairly quickly after the rain has stopped, but it's important that drivers use caution when traveling on roads and particularly dirt roads.
Unseen road damage could be hidden by muddy waters.
Also do not drive through standing water.
