Wildlife Agency Seeks Info on Mink

PANAMA CITY Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission biologist Chris Winchester says the agency wants to know more about mink.

Winchester says they're seeking the public's help in locating mink habitats so they can figure out where to continue their research.

He says there are at least three subspecies -- the Atlantic salt marsh mink, the Gulf salt marsh mink and the Everglades mink.

Currently, only the Everglades mink is listed as threatened.

The public can enter mink sightings on the agency's website, MyFWC.com/Research. Users are asked to click on wildlife and select "public asked to share mink sightings" under "terrestrial mammals."
