Woman Convicted For Claiming $12K in Stolen Food Stamps

PANAMA CITY - A Bay County woman is facing up to 5 years in prison for food stamp fraud.

A local jury convicted 30 year old Kalia Janell Bouie Wednesday of public assistance fraud.

Bouie claimed more than $12,000 in food stamps and Medicaid benefits when she wasn't entitled to them.

Misrepresented her income from December 2008 to September 2011 to receive the state assistance.

Circuit Judge Michael Overstreet set Bouie's sentencing for December 6th.
