Woman Releases 100 Holiday Balloons for Late Husband

PANAMA CITY - A local woman releases 100 balloons into the air in tribute to her late husband.

Barbara Coker sent up the holiday colored balloons Sunday afternoon at the Panama City Marina.

Her husband, Frank, died in February after a three year battle with cancer.

Coker says her husband's favorite time of the year was Christmas, so she decided to send the balloons up to him.

"Christmas was the best holiday for him in the world. I'm sending them just to say, 'I love you' and to tell him 'Merry Christmas' because that's all I want to do is tell him 'Merry Christmas'," she said.

On each of the balloons, Coker and her family wrote the names of loved ones who have passed away.

Coker plans to make this a tradition every year around Christmas time.
