Panama City - A former Panama City Beach City Council woman is running for reelection but in a ward she does not even live in. Some say she is breaking the law.
Debbie Sasser was the ward three council woman from 2002-2006. But she is pre-registered to run in ward four in the upcoming elections. That's because the ward boundaries are currently being redrawn and if approved, she will live in ward four.
But some people have raised concerns about whether Sasser is legally allowed to run in ward four. The law says you have to live in your ward for six months before you can run for office. City Manager Richard Jackson says the city attorney's opinion is that she is qualified to run because she has lived in the same location for a long period of time.

Really? Keith Curry wants the council to delay the vote for the ward zone changes ONLY because he is RUNNING for the same ward. I hope the beach council recognizes his ploy to only gain political ground for his own campaign agenda and continues with the vote forward.
Beach politics at its finest...Curry is only making a "stink" because he doesn't want the competition for the Ward 4 race. It is not a clean way to start a campaign Curry. (Especially with his history)
She's allowed to run because she's lived in the same location for a long time? Are you kidding me? I want to see Richard Jackson gone, and Richard Jackson Blvd re-named to Beckrich Rd!
