Saturday was the last day to vote early for next Tuesday’s primary election here in Florida.
Voters have had almost 2 weeks to avoid lines at the polls on Tuesday, and vote at 3 different polling locations.
According to Supervisor of Elections, Mark Andersen, 13,852 people in Bay County cast early voting ballots.About 6,000 of those were absentee ballot votes.
Andersen says he considers this a good turnout, although he's seen bigger. He adds it's nearly impossible to gauge and it just depends on who's on the ballot and how passionate voters are feeling about the issues and candidates.
There will not be any early voting on Monday. The primary election takes place this coming Tuesday. The polls will open at 7 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m.
