That man who was stabbed Friday night in Freeport is still in critical condition according to the Walton County Sheriff's Office.
45-year-old Dale Paul Gunder is charged with aggravated battery after he allegedly slashed 52-year-old Richard Best's throat.
The incident happened on Old Jolly Bay Road in Freeport.
Best reportedly made a derogatory remark to Gunder about his wife, and the two got into a fight.
Gunder stabbed best in the throat, arm and chest.
He left a 4-to-5 inch gash in his neck.
Best was life-flighted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola and is still in critical condition.
Gunder was arrested on the scene and booked into the Walton County Jail.
