Sunday is a day of remembrance for our nation. A day in which we reflect on lives that ended too soon, first responders who gave their all.

A community event brought together a couple hundred citizens, first responders and members of the armed forces Sunday night at the Panama City Marina.

The names of the more than 500 first responders, military personnel and flight crews who made the ultimate sacrifice were read off.

The memorial also included speeches, patriotic music and moments of silence to honor those who sacrificed so much.

"I’m a retired veteran and I appreciate everything our country has done for me and everything that I can do for my country. And it was wonderful seeing all the people out here in support of the first responders that we had as well as all the civilians that lost their lives," said Retired Veteran, Ron Schreffler.
