Panama City Beach-- A group of local people and businesses are rallying around a young Panama City Beach boy recently diagnosed with cancer.

7-year-old Ty Mullis, a 2nd grader at Patronis Elementary, was diagnosed with burkitts lymphoma a few weeks ago.

Ty was rushed into emergency surgery. He is currently undergoing chemo and has to travel to Sacred Heart hospital in Pensacola for treatment.

As you can imagine, the costs associated with the cancer treatment and travel is immense. That's why some friends of Ty's mother, Marie, have organized a benefit at Pineapple Willy's.

The benefit will be Sunday night at Pineapple Willy's from 6 until 11:30pm with live music all night.

There is a $5 cover charge and all of that money will be donated to Ty Mullis and St. Jude Children's Research hospital.
