The Coast Guard is searching for a missing Ft. Walton Beach boater.

Dawn Hurdwisner left Ft. Walton Beach Friday morning on her 40 foot recreational flat black cabin cruiser.

According to a family acquaintance, she was on her way to Apalachicola to help a family friend tow his shrimp boat. The last time anyone heard from Hurdwisner was Friday evening when she was near Raffield Plat.

She told a family friend she fell asleep and ran her boat aground. People helped her get going again but she said her GPS was not working and she did not know where she was. No one has heard from her since.

Hurdwisner's boat is named the “Naughty Nixon”. It is black with pink lady's on the sides.

The Coast Guard searched for about six hours near and around Apalachicola Bay since one of Hurdwisner's friends reported her missing around 3:00a.m. Sunday.

If you have any information please contact the U.S. Coast Guard.

RAFFIELDS PLAT IS VERY NEAR EAST BAY BEHIND TAFB. IF SHE TURNED OFF OF INTERCOASTAL WATERWAY AT RAFFIELDS PLAT, SHE WOULD NOT HAVE MADE IT TO LAKE WIMICO. LAKE WIMICO IS BETWEEN WHITE CITY AND APALACH. BUT IT IS POSSIBLE FOR HER TO GET CONFUSED AT THE LAKE. MANY CREEKS THERE AND IF YU DON'T KNOW THE AREA, YOU CAN GET LOST. NEWS MEDIA, PLEASE KEEP THE PUBLIC INFORMED. I HOPE AND PRAY THEY FIND HER SOON AND IS O.K.

I wonder if she did not turn off the intercoastal at Raffields Plat and ended up lost in one of the finger waterways around Lake Wimico. If so, I'm sure they will find her.

I BELIEVE RAFFIELDS PLAT IS ON INTERCOASTAL WATERWAY BETWEEN EAST BAY AND OVERSTREET ON THE WAY TO APALACH. HAVE THEY FOUND HER OR THE BOAT? PLEASE GIVE UPDATE. IF YOU STAY IN THE INTERCOASTAL, IT SHOULD BE THE WAY TO APALACH. I PRAY THAT THEY FIND HER AND THAT SHE IS O.K.
