Bay County Sheriff's officials are reminding people to lock their car doors, even in their driveways. They believe that might have prevented a rash of car burglaries around Bay County Saturday night.

Authorities say there were at least four calls to the Lyndell Plantation neighborhood off Back Beach Road regarding items being stolen from cars. Residents tell us at least nine cars were burglarized.

It appears all of the cars were left unlocked and no windows were broken. Residents say the suspect or suspects took car stereos, money, medication and other loose items from the cars.

Authorities urge you to lock all valuable items like cell phones, mp3 players, GPS systems and other electronic devices in the glove compartment. But locking your doors is the first step.

If you have any information about the weekend vehicle burglaries, please call the Bay County Sheriff's office.
