The City of Lynn Haven is celebrating it's 100th year of existence. Although the centennial celebrations have been taking place all year, the city celebrated with a big block party Saturday night.
Hundreds of people came together on Florida Avenue between 7th and 9th streets Saturday evening. There was a little bit of something for everyone. A live band accompanied by some dancing and a bounce house and other activities for the younger residents. But one of the biggest draws for people of all ages was the dunking booth. Mayor Walter Kelley took a couple turns followed by city commissioners and Panama City Mayor Greg Brudnicki.
"I think they should do it more often to be quite honest. It brings everybody out together. It brings people out in a nice atmosphere, in a relaxing atmosphere for the evening and we came out to see what's going on," said Lynn Haven Resident for 28 years, Rita Miller.
The block party wrapped up at 10:00 Saturday night but organizers say they hope to start hosting a similar event every month.
