A Defuniak Springs man is in jail for allegedly trying to sexually abuse his dog.

Authorities with the Walton County Sheriff's Office arrested 54-year-old Eugene Hickman for animal cruelty Saturday morning.

According to the arrest report, Hickman’s grandson found him naked on top of his dog, allegedly trying to have sexual intercourse with the animal.

The report says Hickman admitted he was trying to have sex with his dog to deputies. The report also says family members claim this is not the first time someone has witnessed Hickman trying to do this.

Hickman was booked into the Walton County jail and is charged with one county of animal cruelty, a third-degree felony.

He's a sick, twisted and demented monster and shouldn't be anywhere near humans or animals. May he burn in hell

I reported the molestation of my dogs in May and was treated like I was crazy. Now, this man has been arrested less than 3 miles away from my home. No one is safe around a person who will rape, especially ones who can not defend themselves, like pets and children. Please encourage strong penalties for these sick people, we deserve to be protected from them!!!!!!!!!

The dog had no choice. She did it for the kibble.

I am GLAD this was reported. There needs to be more awareness about cases like this so that the public can demand tougher penalties!

To allow this man stay in any home where there are children or animals is disgusting. The entire family should seek counseling. He's tried it before??? Hey, commit Eugene Hickman to an institution - the family should not be acting as an enablerfor such a perverted being (to call him human is disgraceful!).

WHAT? This is just sick! I wish I hadn’t even read about this perverted sick person! Not the first time? Really? Yeah, I feel sorrowfulness for his family also; it’s not their fault they are related to him. In all probability; this is a mental case.

I volunteer at an animal shelter. We got in a little chihuahua that was brutally raped by a man. It costs $2500 to repair the puppies behind. We occasionally get in kittens and puppies who are found in trash cans. WTF is wrong with these people? They deserve the same treatment and I hope they get the same treatment in jail if caught.

This poor dog is so scared and pitiful. She is the one that I feel soory for. If the family knew that this was going on why did they not do something sooner?
