Panama City - There will be a new face in the District 5 school board seat. Donna Allen lost her bid for re-election back in August. Investment Counselor, Steve Moss and Career Educator Jim Barr were hoping to replace her.

Steve Moss comes out the winner in this race with about 56 percent of the vote and Jim Barr with about 44 percent.

Moss watched the election results come in with friends and family at Beef O'Brady's in Panama City Beach, while Barr gathered with a few supporters at the Firefly restaurant in Panama City Beach.

Moss says his biggest goal as a school board member is to bring Bay County back to an A-grade district. As for Barr, he says he will stay very involved in the community.

Both men say they would not change anything about the way they ran their campaigns, and describe the experience as clean, fair, and joyful.

I'm glad to see that Moss won. His opponent, Jim Barr, was involved in some shady dealings with Barr's campaign support of the current superintendent's predecessor.
