Bay County jail employees booked one of their own Friday night.
Sergeant Winfred Brannon, a now former employee at the Bay County jail, was arrested by a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper for driving under the influence around 11:30 Friday night.

Brannon was pulled over on Hilltop Avenue at Biltmore Drive in Panama City Beach. His blood alcohol level when he took a breath test was a .130.

A judge set Brannon's bond at $2,500 dollars Saturday morning and he's since bonded out.

Brannon has resigned from his job with the sheriff's office. The department’s Spokesperson, Ruth Corely, says Sheriff McKeithen would have terminated Brannon had he not resigned because McKeithen has a “zero-tolerance” policy with drinking and driving.

I hate to see anyone loose their job. But when you work in law enforcement, you should be held to the highest standards of the law.
