Panama City-- At each school board meeting, different schools select a student of the month. But at Tuesday’s meeting, one student received two top honors.

Aaron Pinkerton was recognized as Rutherford High School's student of the month. Rutherford Principal, Mike Kennedy, spoke of Pinkerton's swift reaction during a recent car accident he was involved in.

Pinkerton was stopped at a light and in his rearview mirror, he saw a car coming straight for his. A motorcyclist was in front of Pinkerton so he thought to turn his wheels away from the motorcycle, saving the motorcyclist's life.

Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen also presented Pinkerton with an award for his courageous efforts saving his friends life by calling 9-1-1 when he discovered his friend having a medical emergency.

"He applied quick, decisive action by placing them in the bath tub with cold water running on them and keeping them awake until EMS arrived. Aaron, your quick and selfless action saved the persons life and that accomplishment has not gone unnoticed," said McKeithen as he presented Pinekrton with the award.

Aaron, I don't know if you'll read this or not, but should consider a career in the medical field.
