Two adults and a juvenile are behind bars for allegedly setting several hundred bales of hay on fire.

Around 8:00 Saturday evening, firefighters responded to an arson complaint at the intersection of Christmas Road and Rambo Road in the Campbellton area of Jackson county.

When they got there, they found about 250 bales were destroyed valued at $10,000 dollars.

Several units had to respond to control the fire from spreading to more hay.

An investigation led to the arrest of three people; 18-year-old Aaron Emerson and 20-year-old Zachery Wayne Mercer both from Cottonwood, Alabama. The third suspect is a juvenile.

The three are charged with felony criminal mischief but the investigation is ongoing and according to the report, further charges are pending regarding the juvenile suspect.

This is more than mischief. That hay was someones livelihood. If this fire was intentionally set, they should be more heavily charged.
