Top Ten Stories of 2011


We’re closing in on the end of another year and what a year it’s been. It’s, once again, been our honor and privilege to cover the news, weather, sports and other events that affect your lives, touch your hearts, or maybe just make your day a little better. And we appreciate your loyal viewership. Without you, we’d really have no reason to do what we do each day.

Once again this year we want you to play a big role in selecting what you believe to be the big stories of 2011. We’ve compiled more than 50 stories, in no particular order, that we saw as the most important to the people of Northwest Florida. By no means is this THE definitive list. But it is the most representative list of the stories we spent the most time and energy covering over the past year. We’re asking you to pick your top 10 out of the list.

You can vote between now and Monday, December 5th at midnight. After that, we’ll calculate the results, and present the Top 10 news stories of 2011 during a special presentation of NewsChannel 7 @ 10:00 on New Year’s Eve December 31st, 2011.

    I think a couple of very important "continuing"stories are missing. 1) The extreme drought conditions of the panhandle. 2) The water well war between Washington and Bay Counties. 3)No hurricanes.

    You forgot one very important one..The School Board shooting, I didnt see it on the list. ............... Editor Comment. The incident happened in early December 2010 and was included in last year's wrap up
