Gas prices increase

A survey of fueling station prices found the average price of gas has jumped over eight cents in the past two weeks.

the Lundberg survey of fuel prices released Sunday says the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline was $2.77.

Among the cities surveyed, Tucson, Arizona had the lowest average price at $2.51 for a gallon of regular.

San Francisco had the highest at $3.08.

This recent increase was likely driven by a spike in crude oil prices. Because oil is priced in U.S. dollars, a weak dollar makes oil an attractive buy for investors... with the dollar tumbling of late, oil prices have risen in response.

It's too bad that the price of oil refining and gasoline are controlled by five companies in the U.S. who have decided to stick it to our country. There's no market reason that the price of gasoline should be this high.
