Cutting Salt from Diet May Involve More than Removing Salt Shakers from Kitchen

Cutting salt from your diet may involve more than removing salt shakers from the house.

A report published by Consumer Reports Magazine looked at the sodium content of 37 common grocery items.

Researchers found high sodium levels per serving among items that didn't taste salty, like raisin bran, chocolate pudding and waffle mix.

Adults should get no more than 2,300 milligrams of sodium a day.
